CSAYL Taggy Challenge

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's time for this weeks Christmas Stampin' challenge, and this weeks challenge is "Taggy".  Use any Christmas stamps you have and create a tag.  Be sure to visit the CSAYL blog and post a link to your tag so you are entered to win this weeks prize!

For my tag, I made this cute wine bottle tag...

The base of my tag is made from one of the papers in the Basic Grey Nordic Holiday 6x6 pad.  I cut a small strip of red to go across the bottom and embossed it with my Swiss Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug).  I stamped my sentiment on some white cardstock in black ink, and just trimmed it out with scissors.  It is mounted on some dimensional foam dots, to make it pop out.

QUICK TIP:  To make my circle to go over the top of a wine bottle, I traced a lid from a 2 Liter bottle of soda.  If you have a circle punch that is a good size to go over a wine bottle, you can use that, but the bottle cap works if you don't.  Once you trace it where you want it, just pierce the center with the tip of your scissors and trim it out.

Once I had my hole cut, I laid the tag on my scoring board and scored a line for the fold.

These are so much fun to make, and such a cute alternative to the wine bags!

Happy Stampin',

Michelle

CSAYL Friday - One Layer Card!

Happy Friday, everyone!   Well, you know what Friday brings, right?  Christmas Stampin' All Year Long, that's what Friday brings!

The challenge this week is one layer cards, and if you play along, one lucky winner is going to win a guest designer spot on the blog!

For this card I used Spellbinders Labels 22 for the base.  You might not be able to see it very well in the picture, but I stamped a cool swirly pattern with Versamark ink on the green cardstock.  It doesn't show up very well in the picture, but it is there.  For single layer cards, I like to add something with some dimension, like this poinsettia sticker from Jolee's .  I LOVE this poinsettia.  The leaves have a very neat leather look to them, and so much dimension.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts, and I just stamped that in some black ink down at the bottom.

I hope you play along with us this week.  One layer cards can be a real challenge, but they can be so great, and easy to mail too!

Have a great weekend,

Michelle

I love orange.  So bright and cheery!  The perfect color to go along with this cheerful sentiment...

This sentiment is from the new Sympathy and Care stamp set.  I stamped it on white cardstock and trimmed it out with scissors.  This gorgeous orange patterned paper is from the Splash 6x6 pad (Echo Park).  This paper is so pretty by itself I didn't want to cover it up too much.  I attached the sentiment to the front of my card with some dimensional foam dots, and tied some Orange Divine Twine around the top to finish it off.
Make sure you check out the SP Blog to see what Samantha did with the new stamps! And don't forget to hop around to each Design Team Member's blog - there are brand new projects with the stamps that came out TODAY to inspire you!

and the winner will be announced on Friday, May 11th!

Good luck!

For this card I used one of my all-time favorite Christmas stamps.  It is an old one from TAC and is now retired, but I still use it all the time!  I stamped it with a Fruitcake Kaleidacolor pad, and then added some glitter accents to the image using my Tombow Mono-multi glue and some loose glitter.  Might be kind of hard to see the glitter in the picture but it is there!  I used my corner to round the corners on the right side of the card and tied some really sparkly silver ribbon on the side.

Happy Stampin',

Michelle
