Mini Treat Can

Today is my day over on the SP & Company blog.  This time I made a cute little treat container.  Not only is it really easy to make, but you get to reuse/repurpose something in the process, which is always a nice bonus. Reduce, reuse, recycle, right? Right!

OK, so this is the picture that I took when I originally set out to make my container, but it does not accurately reflect what I ended up using. Funny how that works, isn't it? Started out with one idea and ended up going a very different direction. However, I am going to show this to you anyway, just so you can see the original container I used for this. Don't worry, I will fill you in on everything I ended up using!

The Pringles can is one of their mini "grab & go" cans. It is about 3 1/2 inches tall and you can find them in grocery stores everywhere. Once it is empty, just clean the inside out and you are good to go.

To completely cover this particular type of can you will need to cut a piece of paper approximately 3 1/8" x 9 3/4". Wrap it around the can, using your favorite adhesive to make it stick. I used a combination of double-sided tape and Tombow Mono-Multi. The second (green) layer was cut to about 2 1/2" x 9 3/4", and adhered the same way. The green strip is embossed using the Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

I used the large chick from Easter Eggy and colored it in with my Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is from the same set which I stamped on white and trimmed in the ends to make the banner. Both of those are mounted on the label that I cut using Nestabilities Labels 10 out of Alphabet Soup Collection - Lovely Paper. I put some dimensional foam dots on the back of the label and then just centered it on the front of the can.

Easy peasy and so much fun! Fill it up with some candy treats or a small gift, and you have a fabulous little gift container.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
